Someone Knows Something host David Ridgen’s latest investigation is 15 years in the making. Season 9 follows the story of Ontario teenager Christine Harron who disappears in 1993. A mysterious man confesses to her murder, but the police case stalls out — and then David steps in.
1. Chrissy
Chrissy Harron didn’t feel well on May 18, 1993, and stayed home from school, but eventually her mother insisted that she get to afternoon class. Chrissy left, slamming the door, and would never be seen again. How can someone simply vanish, and did the local police find anything of use in their investigation?
2. Ringel
A decade after her disappearance, a previously uninvestigated local man comes forward at a family gathering and confesses to killing Christine Harron. Chrissy’s mother Mary Ann is told that the case is a “slam dunk”. And the outcome of an upcoming trial could mean she will finally learn the truth. But this is just the beginning.
3. Stay
The case against Anthony Ringel falls apart and he is freed. And Mary Ann says she’s been kept in the dark. How did it happen, and is Anthony Ringel even guilty of what he says?
4. ‘Til the day I die
David’s TV documentary about Christine comes out in the spring of 2012, publicly revealing details of the case for the first time along with key interviews including a face-to-face with Anthony Ringel. In the aftermath, police launch an undercover operation on Ringel. David and Mary Ann’s work proves key and Ringel is re-arrested. Will Ringel finally go to trial and Mary Ann learn the truth?
5. A bear in the woods
The finale. The aftermath of Ringel’s trial, what happened, and what was learned. David and Mary Ann embark on a search for Chrissy’s body.
